Dining at Alaia Beach Resort Zanzibar

Italian Soul · Fresh Seafood · Healthy Everyday Food

“KAIO by Hello Capitano”

Dining at Alaia Beach Resort Zanzibar is curated and operated by KAIO by Hello Capitano – a restaurant and café concept known for its relaxed atmosphere, honest cooking, and food that fits naturally into island life.

Rooted in Italian-inspired cuisine, fresh seafood, and a strong focus on healthy, balanced food, KAIO brings a dining experience that feels easy, social, and unpretentious. Meals are designed to flow naturally with beach days, pool time, and slow evenings by the ocean.

Whether you’re starting the day gently, refuelling between activities, or sitting down for a long dinner, dining at Alaia is meant to feel simple, satisfying, and relaxed.

The Restaurant

KAIO by Hello Capitano is set across two floors, each offering a slightly different atmosphere while sharing the same kitchen, menu philosophy, and commitment to fresh preparation and quality ingredients.

The ground floor is open, social, and closely connected to the pool and beach – ideal for casual lunches, light meals between swims, and relaxed daytime dining.

The upper floor offers a calmer, more laid-back setting with extra space and a slower rhythm, making it perfect for breakfast mornings and evening dinners.

Both levels reflect the same spirit: open, welcoming, and designed to be enjoyed without formality.

Breakfast

A Balanced Start to the Day

Breakfast at Alaia, by KAIO, focuses on freshness, balance, and variety – offering guests choice without excess.

Guests can enjoy:

  • Freshly prepared eggs and breakfast classics
  • Seasonal fruits
  • Yogurt, cereals, and light options
  • Fresh bread and baked items
  • Healthy additions suited to different diets

Fresh juices, coffee, and hot drinks are available throughout breakfast, allowing guests to start the day energized – whether heading to the beach, the gym, or the water sports center.

Lunch

Easy Meals That Fit Beach Days

Lunch is flexible, fresh, and uncomplicated – designed for guests spending the day around the pool, at the beach, or returning from activities.

The lunch menu includes:

  • Fresh salads
  • Pasta dishes
  • Pizza
  • Seafood plates
  • Light and healthy options

Meals are satisfying without feeling heavy, making it easy to continue the day comfortably.

Dinner

Italian-Inspired Evenings by the Sea

As the day slows, KAIO shifts into a relaxed, social dinner atmosphere.

Dinner highlights Italian-inspired cooking, fresh seafood, and well-balanced dishes made to be shared and enjoyed at an unhurried pace.

Evening offerings include:

  • Handmade pasta dishes
  • Stone-style pizzas
  • Fresh seafood
  • Simple, well-composed plates using quality ingredients

The focus remains on flavour, freshness, and comfort – not formality – creating a dining experience that feels natural and unforced.

Seafood

Fresh seafood plays an important role throughout the menu. Prepared simply and served with care, seafood dishes reflect the resort’s coastal setting and are available across lunch and dinner selections.

Healthy Food & Fresh Juices

Healthy food is not treated as a separate category – it’s part of everyday dining at KAIO.

Guests will find:

  • Nutritious, well-balanced meals
  • Fresh juices
  • Light plates suited to active or wellness-focused stays

These options are available throughout the day and designed to support a beach-oriented, outdoor lifestyle.

A Dining Experience That Matches the Island

Dining at Alaia, by KAIO by Hello Capitano, is not about strict schedules or formal settings.
It’s about good food, relaxed moments, and meals that move naturally with the rhythm of the island.
Breakfast starts slow.
Lunch fits between activities.
Dinner brings the day to a close.
That’s how dining at Alaia is meant to feel.

About

Alaia Beach Resort Zanzibar was created from a deep love for the ocean, the white sands of Paje, and the simple, generous way of life that defines Zanzibar.
